Operation Smile Honored by the Ministry of Health of Vietnam

July 2006 -A delegation from the Ministry of Health of Vietnam led by Minister Madame Tran Thi Trung Chien attended an Operation Smile event during their visit to the United States. Congressman Trent Franks hosted the event at the Capitol Hill Club in Washington D.C. on July 18. The event highlighted Operation Smile’s dedication and service to Vietnam over the past 18 years.

Minister Tran Thi Chung Chien, on behalf of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam, honored Operation Smile for its success in providing care for the people of Vietnam. The certificate was awarded to Dr. William P. Magee Jr., Wayne Zinn, COO, alongside Dr. Lam Hoai Phuong, Head of the National Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology of Ho Chi Minh City and Medical Director of Operation Smile Vietnam.

Minister Tran Thi Chung Chien expressed her thanks and told the group that she was looking forward to doing more work with Operation Smile in the future. The event was organized by the International Cooperation Department of the Vietnamese Ministry of Health, the Vietnamese Embassy in Washington, D.C., Operation Smile Vietnam, Operation Smile and Susan Davis Consulting Firms.
